1. They do not kill living beings. So they are vegetarians.
2. They help to free beings that are destined for slaughter in what is known as "Liberation of Life" ceremony. They purchase birds, fishes, tortises, and other animals and set them free after performing a ceremony for them.
The liberating of living beings is a traditional Buddhist practice. By doing that, one is nurturing one's own compassionate nature. |

| tripledoubles | Nov 15, 2007 10:47am | | You don't mean "modern" turkeys, you mean "domesticated", i believe. There are no wolves around here. Maybe dogs would give them a hard time. I don't know turkeys, but it sounds fun. |

| utlan | Nov 15, 2007 10:53am | yes i mean mordern domesticated turkeys. No matter where you live there is going to be some kind of predator and they will eat them with little trouble.
Letting it into the wild dosn't sound like it would be in it's best intrests, no matter how fun it might be. |

Buddhists do not just liberate (domesticated) animals into the jungle. They will find a suitable place for the different kinds of living beings. |
